The KCafe youth project is open to young people, aged 11 to 25. We have qualified and trained youth workers working in the project. We run a weekly Young Women’s Group and a Skate School.
Young people can engage in various activities, and access information, advice and support from youth workers.
We aim to create a safe and welcoming space for young people to enjoy, meet friends and make new ones.
We also run activities during school holidays, such as workshops and sporting events, and trips to other skate parks.
KCafe helps to facilitate annual skate and BMX competitions, which take place in Kings Field Skate Park and attract many talented skaters and BMX’ers. There is also a group currently working towards designing and planning for a new skate park to be built on the site.
We are also looking for young people to get involved in the running of the youth project by helping to decide what activities we do and by being a voice for other users of the project. If you think you are the person for the job, stop by and talk to a youth worker.
